Robert Haasnoot (1961; United States) made a name for himself with his novels about the fishing village of Zeewijk, for which he received rave reviews at home and abroad. Waanzee (Sea of Delusion) won him the Prix des Ambassadeurs. Haasnoot's novels have been translated into several languages. He also wrote two plays that were performed by the Independent Theater, among others. Robert Haasnoot is a lecturer at the Writers Academy.
