Sandra van Beek is a journalist and documentary film researcher. In 2000, she published De Grote Illusie about the film reviewer couple Gerry and Ellen Waller and in 2011 De Vogel, a study of the whereabouts of her father’s statues in public domain. She has made documentaries with filmmaker Kees Hin and wrote a book about his oeuvre: De 250 blikken film van Kees Hin (2016). In 2014, she published the biography: Ik een nieuwe Mondriaan? Ik ben een ouwe Schoonhoven! (2014), which also appeared in English: Zero Man Jan Schoonhoven, Dutch artist and civil servant. Her recent pocket book Vallen (2019) is a tragicomic autobiography after a fall with a broken hip, illustrated with small size paintings, originating during revalidation.
