Sasha Meyer (1957) grew up in the Netherlands, the only child of a Dutch father and an Austrian mother. In 2013, she unexpectedly came into possession of an extensive family archive. Hundreds of letters from her Jewish grandmother who had fled to Central America at the start of the Second World War gave access to a history she had been unaware of until then. During the following years Sasha delved further into the fate of her Jewish and non-Jewish ancestors - people who were forced to leave Central Europe and built up new life elsewhere. About her findings Sasha recently wrote her book 'Lali'.
